Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall enter into an agreement with the Illinois State Police (ISP) to allow the Department's database of public aid recipients to cross-reference with ISP's database of outstanding criminal warrants. Further provides that public aid recipients who are found to have an outstanding criminal warrant shall be subject to an immediate suspension of their public aid benefits, including the immediate deactivation of their electronic benefits card or LINK card provided under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Exempts residents of nursing homes from the provisions of the amendatory Act.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 12-4.7b-1 as follows: |

7 | | Sec. 12-4.7b-1. Criminal warrants database. The |
8 | | Department of Human Services shall enter into an agreement with |
9 | | the Illinois State Police (ISP) to allow the Department's |
10 | | database of public aid recipients to cross-reference with ISP's |
11 | | database of outstanding criminal warrants. Public aid |
12 | | recipients who are found to have an outstanding criminal |
13 | | warrant shall be subject to an immediate suspension of their |
14 | | public aid benefits, including the immediate deactivation of |
15 | | their electronic benefits card or LINK card provided under the |
16 | | Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Residents of |
17 | | nursing homes shall be exempt from the provisions of this |
18 | | Section.
