Amends the Veterans and Servicemembers Court
Treatment Act. Provides that the Chief Judge of each judicial circuit shall (rather than may) establish a
Veterans and Servicemembers Court program including a format under which it operates under
the Act. Effective January 1, 2018.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Veterans and Servicemembers Court

| 13 | | court or mental health court. At the discretion of the Chief

| 14 | | Judge, the Veterans and Servicemembers Court program may be |
| 15 | | operated in one county in the
Circuit, and allow veteran and |
| 16 | | servicemember defendants from all counties within the Circuit |
| 17 | | to
participate.
