HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate and celebrate Circuit
4Judge Christopher Starck on the occasion of his retirement on
5January 29, 2016, after 27 years of service; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Judge Christopher Starck was born in Chicago; he
7grew up in Lake County and attended grammar school and high
8school in Deerfield; he subsequently graduated from Carroll
9College in Waukesha, Wisconsin and received his law degree from
10Loyola University School of Law in 1979; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Judge Christopher Starck worked in Waukegan and
12Chicago before opening the law firm of Smoker and Starck with
13Tom Smoker, a former Associate Judge; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Judge Christopher Starck was appointed to serve as
15Associate Judge in 1989; he was appointed a Circuit Judge by
16the Illinois Supreme Court in 2000; and
 
17    WHEREAS, One of many notable highlights of Judge
18Christopher Starck's career includes being elected to serve as
19Chief Judge and serving 3 terms in that position from 2004 to
202007; and

1    WHEREAS, Judge Christopher Starck also served on the
2Judicial Conference of Illinois Automation and Technology
3Committee, the Committee on Strategic Planning, and the
4Executive Committee on the Supreme Court Business Policy Board;
5he was also reappointed to the Judicial Conference Executive
6Committee and the Judicial Conference Study Committee on
7Complex Litigation; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judge Christopher Starck will be dearly missed by
9the entire Lake County legal community; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12thank and congratulate 19th Circuit Court Judge Christopher
13Starck for his many years of service and wish him all the best
14in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Judge Christopher Starck as an expression of our
17congratulations and appreciation for a job well done.
