Amends the Counties Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 | | 2-3002.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (55 ILCS 5/2-3002.5)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 2-3002.5.
Beginning with members elected at the
the |
| 8 | | general election
in 2002, counties having a population
between |
| 9 | | 800,000 and 3,000,000 according to 2000 decennial census shall |
| 10 | | have no
more than 18 members on their county board.
If the |
| 11 | | chairman of the county board is elected at-large by the voters |
| 12 | | of the
county as provided in Section 2-3007, the chairman shall |
| 13 | | not be counted as a
member of the county board for the purpose |
| 14 | | of the limitations on the size of
the county board provided in |
| 15 | | this Section. Neither a member nor the
chairman of that county |
| 16 | | board shall serve simultaneously as commissioner or
president |
| 17 | | of the board of commissioners of the forest preserve district. |
| 18 | | No
person shall seek election to both the county board and the |
| 19 | | forest preserve
commission at the same election. |
