    Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. In provisions concerning the written examination for a public adjuster license, reduces the waiting period for retaking the examination for an individual who fails from 90 days to 7 days.

1    AN ACT concerning insurance.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
5changing Section 1530 as follows:
 
6    (215 ILCS 5/1530)
7    Sec. 1530. Examination.
8    (a) An individual applying for a public adjuster license
9under this Article must pass a written examination unless he or
10she is exempt pursuant to Section 1535 of this Article. The
11examination shall test the knowledge of the individual
12concerning the duties and responsibilities of a public adjuster
13and the insurance laws and regulations of this State.
14Examinations required by this Section shall be developed and
15conducted under rules and regulations prescribed by the
16Director.
17    (b) The Director may make arrangements, including
18contracting with an outside testing service, for administering
19examinations and collecting the nonrefundable fee. Each
20individual applying for an examination shall remit a
21nonrefundable fee as prescribed by the Director. An individual
22who fails to appear for the examination as scheduled or fails
23to pass the examination shall reapply for an examination and

1remit all required fees and forms before being rescheduled for
2another examination. An individual who fails to pass the
3examination must wait 7 90 days prior to rescheduling an
4examination.
