AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1858 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1858 on page 3, 
3immediately below line 19, by inserting the following:


 
4    "Section 12. Exemptions.  The prohibitions under Section 10 
5shall not apply:
6        (1) When the ivory or rhinoceros horn is part of a bona 
7    fide antique gun or knife and is less than 20% by volume of 
8    the antique, and the seller establishes by documentation 
9    that the antique is not less than 100 years old.
10        (2) When the ivory or rhinoceros horn is part of a 
11    musical instrument, including, but not limited to, a string 
12    or wind instrument or piano, and that is less than 20% by 
13    volume of the instrument, and the owner or seller provides 
14    historical documentation demonstrating provenance and 
15    showing the item was manufactured no later than 1975.".
