2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2264, AS AMENDED, |
3 | | by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the |
4 | | following:

5 | | "Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
6 | | 10-20.24 as follows:
|
7 | | (105 ILCS 5/10-20.24) (from Ch. 122, par. 10-20.24)
|
8 | | Sec. 10-20.24. Part-time Attendance. To accept in |
9 | | part-time attendance
in the regular education program of the |
10 | | district pupils enrolled in nonpublic
schools if there is |
11 | | sufficient space in the public school desired to be
attended. |
12 | | For the purposes of this Section, for 5 years from the |
13 | | effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General |
14 | | Assembly, allowing part-time attendance in the regular |
15 | | education program of the district shall include allowing |
16 | | resident pupils who are enrolled in nonpublic elementary |

1 | | schools to participate in those school-sponsored or |
2 | | school-supported athletic or extracurricular activities that |
3 | | are not selective with respect to who may join or participate, |
4 | | in which case the district may submit a report to the State |
5 | | Board of Education on the cost of having the nonpublic school |
6 | | students participate. A threshold of participating members of |
7 | | non-selective athletic or extracurricular activities may be |
8 | | set by school board policy. The number of nonpublic school |
9 | | students allowed to participate may be limited to filling |
10 | | available spots. All participating nonpublic school students |
11 | | must show proof of both medical and liability insurance in |
12 | | order to participate. Request for attendance in the following |
13 | | school year must be
submitted by the nonpublic school principal |
14 | | to the public school before
May 1. Request may be made only to |
15 | | those public schools located in the
district where the child |
16 | | attending the nonpublic school resides.

17 | | To accept, pursuant to the provisions of Section 14-6.01, |
18 | | in part-time
attendance resident pupils of the types described |
19 | | in Sections 14-1.02 through
14-1.07 who are enrolled in |
20 | | nonpublic schools.

23 | | is amended by adding Section 1.20 as follows: |

1 | | Sec. 1.20. Reporting on communication with schools. |
2 | | (a) On or before July 1, 2016, an association or other |
3 | | entity that has as one of its purposes promoting, sponsoring, |
4 | | regulating, or in any manner providing for interscholastic |
5 | | athletics or any form of athletic competition among elementary |
6 | | or secondary schools and students within this State shall |
7 | | report to the General Assembly on the association's or entity's |
8 | | efforts to communicate its rules to public and nonpublic |
9 | | schools in this State. |
10 | | (b) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2017.

11 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
12 | | becoming law.".
