SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
ILCON Art. IV, Sec. 2.5 new

    Proposes to amend the Legislature Article of the Illinois Constitution. Prohibits a person from holding the office of Senator or Representative, or a combination of those offices, for more than 10 years. Effective upon being declared adopted.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
5CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
6electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general
7election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption of
8this resolution a proposition to amend the Illinois
9Constitution by adding Section 2.5 to Article IV as follows:

THE LEGISLATURE

12    (ILCON Art. IV, Sec. 2.5 new)
13SECTION 2.5. TERM LIMITS
14    No person may hold the office of Senator or Representative,
15or a combination of those offices, for more than 10 consecutive
16years.

SCHEDULE
18    This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon being
19declared adopted in accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois
20Constitutional Amendment Act.
