SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Richard "Dick" Neumiller of
4Peoria, who passed away on January 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller was born on November 9, 1931 to
6Harry J. and Grace L. (nee Gridley) Neumiller; he graduated
7from Peoria High School in 1949 and received a bachelor's
8degree from Knox College in finance and economics; while at
9Knox College, he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity
10and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa; he married Nancy Ann
11Coolidge on June 6, 1961 at First Federated Church of Peoria;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller served on the Peoria City
14Council for 12 years as Councilman for the 4th District; he was
15the interim Mayor of Peoria from 1984 to 1985; he served on
16numerous boards throughout his life, including Goodwill
17Industries International, Inc., The Dirksen Congressional
18Center, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Heartland
192020, Peoria Area Tricentennial, Wildlife Prairie Park, the
20Peoria-based Biotechnology Research and Development
21Corporation, The Forest Park Foundation, the Peoria Area
22Chamber of Commerce, and the Peoria Ballet Academy; and

1    WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller was a lifelong member of First
2Federated Church of Peoria, where he served in many capacities,
3including as an elder, president of the congregation, and on
4the archives committee; he was a longtime photographer,
5specializing in railroads; he was an Eagle Scout and a lifelong
6Chicago Cubs fan; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller was preceded in death by his
8parents and his brothers, Harry and Tom Neumiller; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller is survived by his wife, Nancy;
10his children, Jane (Marcus) Neumiller-Bustad, Roger
11(Valentina) Neumiller, and Kate (Bill) Schureman; and his
12grandchildren, Sara Bustad and Kristina, Melody, Victoria,
13James, and Amelia Neumiller; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Charles Richard "Dick" Neumiller, and extend our sincere
17condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
18him; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Charles Neumiller as an expression
21of our deepest sympathy.
