SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lee Barrett; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was born on December 11, 1937 in
5Camden, New Jersey; his parents were Frank and Grace Barrett;
6he married Carmen Rivera on April 15, 1966; he and his wife
7made their home in the Dundee area for the past 39 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was a professional registered
9engineer with extensive experience in mechanical and
10electrical engineering; he was the President, owner, and
11operator of Barrett Engineering, Inc. in East Dundee; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lee Barrett served his country as a member of the
13United States Army's Tank Corps and 82nd Airborne Division; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was a member of AMVETS Post #202; he
15was a proud and loyal member of the Republican Party, an active
16part of Kane County politics, and a former member of the Kane
17County Board in District 21; he was a Precinct Committeeman for
18many years and a member and former officer of the Dundee
19Township Republican Central Committee; he was also a member of
20the Wicker Park Lutheran Church in Chicago; and

1    WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was preceded in death by his parents;
22 brothers, Lloyd and Ernest; and a sister, Arlene Roloson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lee Barrett is survived by his wife of 49 years,
4Carmen; 2 daughters, Leigh and Eileen; a granddaughter, Taylor;
5a brother: Frank (Roberta) Barrett; and many nieces, nephews,
6and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Lee Barrett; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Lee Barrett as an expression of our
13sympathy.
