| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Donald Thomas "D.T." Richardson, Sr. of | ||||||
| 4 | Benton, who passed away on November 12, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Donald Richardson was born in Anaheim, California | ||||||
| 6 | on July 21, 1963 to Walter Tom and Sara Sue (nee Bassett) | ||||||
| 7 | Richardson; he married Christine Marie Tasky on May 21, 2011; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Donald Richardson began his career in law | ||||||
| 10 | enforcement with the Energy Police Department; he later became | ||||||
| 11 | Chief of Police in Crainville; he then worked for the | ||||||
| 12 | Christopher Police Department and as a Deputy with the Franklin | ||||||
| 13 | County Sheriff's Department where he was employed for 24 years; | ||||||
| 14 | after retiring from the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, | ||||||
| 15 | he became Chief of Police at Sesser; he was then appointed | ||||||
| 16 | interim Fire Chief with the City of Benton Fire Department; he | ||||||
| 17 | then worked as a police officer with the City of Benton, where | ||||||
| 18 | he was most recently employed; in 2001, he served as an | ||||||
| 19 | International Police Officer with the United Nations Defense in | ||||||
| 20 | Kosovo; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Donald Richardson enjoyed fishing, spending time | ||||||
| 22 | with his friends, and his law enforcement and firefighter | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | families; he also loved his pugs; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Donald Richardson was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 3 | father; his foster parent, Jerry Gass; his brother-in-law, | ||||||
| 4 | Bruce Tasky; and his paternal and maternal grandparents; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Donald Richardson is survived by his wife, | ||||||
| 6 | Christine; his mother, Sara Vancil; his son, Donald Thomas | ||||||
| 7 | "Tommy" Richardson, Jr.; his 2 grandchildren; his stepson, John | ||||||
| 8 | Bryan Tasky and wife, Heather; his father-in-law and | ||||||
| 9 | mother-in-law, Bill and Nancy Tasky; his brother, Robert Eugene | ||||||
| 10 | Richardson and wife, Lisa; his sister-in-law and | ||||||
| 11 | brother-in-law, Kim and Mike Mandrell; his brother-in-law, | ||||||
| 12 | William David Tasky; his special friends, Dave and Shelley | ||||||
| 13 | Webb; his aunt, Laura; several nieces and nephews; and his law | ||||||
| 14 | enforcement and firefighter family; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 17 | Donald Thomas "D.T." Richardson, Sr., and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 18 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 19 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to the family of Donald Richardson as an expression | ||||||
| 22 | of our deepest sympathy.
