SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William E. "Night Hawk" Austin, Jr., who
4passed away on December 23, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Austin, Jr. was born in DeLand, Florida,
6to William, Sr. and Margaret A. Austin on November 12, 1950;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, William Austin, Jr. graduated from high school and
9entered Bethune-Cookman College; he served in the United States
10Army with the 173rd Airborne Brigade "The Herd" during the
11Vietnam War; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Austin, Jr. was preceded in death by his
13parents; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Austin, Jr. is survived by his devoted
15wife, Tracy Smith-Austin; his mother-in-law, Betty Smith; his
16sisters, Bettye (Archie) Gavin and Karen (George) Scruggs; his
17brother, Wayne (Nora) Austin; his children, Patronda Austin,
18William Austin, III, Kevin Woody, and Richard Austin; his
19godson, Mar'Shawn Tyrel McCullum; his 6 grandchildren; his 6
20great-grandchildren; his cousins, Ronnie and Timothy Williams;
21his special friends, Elmer Wright and Juan Garcia; and his many

1nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
4family and friends, mourn the passing of William E. Austin,
5Jr.; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of William Austin, Jr. as an expression
8of our sympathy.
