SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Daniel J. "Dan" Arnold, who passed away
4on November 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Arnold was born to Sergeant Major LeRoy Julius
6and Clara Abbott Arnold; he graduated from Northern Illinois
7University in 1981, with a degree in Business/Marketing; he was
8a lifelong student of military history and joined the National
9Guard to both serve his country and pay for college; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dan Arnold was the founder and CEO of Road Ranger
11LLC; he and his wife, Linda, started with a single store
12shortly after getting married and grew it into the company it
13is today; he was awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young
14Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2009; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dan Arnold was actively involved with many
16organizations, as Board Member of Christ for All Nations
17(CFaN), as Chairman of the Board of the Transfer Foundation, as
18Director with Ray Comfort's Living Waters Publications, the
19Gideons International, and many others; his past service
20includes, founding member of Reformers Unanimous, 5-term
21Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Historical Preservation Society,
22Director and Treasurer of the Rockford Boys & Girls Club, on

1the Board of Advisors to Northern Illinois University, various
2positions in Ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ, and
3others too numerous to list; along with his wife Linda, he
4founded multiple charitable foundations, including the Daniel
5and Linda Arnold Scholarship Fund at Gordon-Conwell
6Theological Seminary and the Arnold Family Charitable Trust,
7which assists Christian organizations worldwide; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dan Arnold is survived by his wife, Linda; his
9twin daughters, Cristina and Giselle; his sisters, Debbie (Jay)
10Montange and Sandy (Kenneth) Simmons; his brother, Clayton
11(Debbie) Arnold; his mother-in-law, Eloisa Eckmann (James
12Harders); his sister-in-law, Gina (Scott) Wells; his
13brothers-in-law, Adam (Angie) Leddy, John (Sue) Leddy, and
14Capt. Lawrence F. Eckmann; countless nieces, nephews, and
15cousins; his aunt, Millie Janisch; and his uncles; therefore,
16be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Daniel J. "Dan" Arnold, and extend our sincere condolences to
20his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
21further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23presented to the family of Dan Arnold as an expression of our
