Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Metropolitan Transit Authority Act. Provides that certain civil actions against the Metropolitan Transit Authority must be commenced within 2 years (now, one year) from the date the injury was received or the cause of action accrued. Provides that written notice must be provided to the Authority within one year (now, 6 months) from the date the injury was received or the cause of action accrued.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 3
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill. Provides that certain civil actions against the Authority must be commenced within one year (instead of 2 years) from the date the injury was received or the cause of action accrued. Provides that the changes made by the amendatory Act apply to causes of action that accrue on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Revised Cities and Villages Act of 1941. Corrects a cross-reference concerning the process for filling vacancies in the office of alderman. Effective immediately.
