Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Pharmacy Practice Act of 1987. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the State Board of Pharmacy.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Acupuncture Practice Act. Makes changes in the definition of "referral by written order". Removes the requirement that a person practicing acupuncture have on file a written referral order from a physician or dentist. Provides that a physician or dentist may refer by written order a patient to an acupuncturist for the practice of acupuncture and may, through express direction in the referral, maintain management of the patient. In provisions regarding application for licensure, changes references to the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists to the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and changes a reference to the National Accreditation Commission for Schools and Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Makes changes in provisions concerning grounds for discipline. Effective immediately.
