Synopsis As Introduced Creates the Gubernatorial Late Term Appointment Act. Provides that when a lame duck Governor makes appointments that are confirmed by the Senate within the last 60 days of his or her term, the late term appointees serve no longer than the sixtieth day of the succeeding Governor's term. Permits the succeeding Governor to then fill those vacant appointed offices.
Deletes everything. Creates the Gubernatorial Appointment Act. Provides that when a lame duck Governor makes appointments that are confirmed by the Senate within the last 90 days of his or her term, the late term appointees serve no longer than the sixtieth day of the succeeding Governor's term. Permits the succeeding Governor to then fill those vacant appointed offices. Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that for a person appointed to a 4-year term appointment, the period of probation shall not be less than 6 months. Effective immediately.
