Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Governmental Account Audit Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning reports to the Comptroller.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Governmental Account Audit Act. Provides that a governmental unit receiving revenue of less than $850,000 shall cause an audit of the accounts every 4 years (currently, each year). Requires a governmental unit receiving less than $850,000 in revenue each fiscal year to submit financial reports to the Comptroller each year that an audit is not conducted (currently, submitted in lieu of an annual audit).

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
50 ILCS 310/2

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Governmental Audit Account Act. Provides that a governmental unit receiving revenue of less than $850,000 for any fiscal year may either: (i) cause an audit of the accounts of the unit every 4 years, or (ii) file a financial report containing information required by the Comptroller, a copy of which has been provided to the governmental unit's elected officials, presented during a public meeting, and approved by a 3/5 majority vote. Effective July 1, 2015.

Provides that a governmental unit shall file with the Comptroller an annual financial report (instead of a financial report).
