Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Fire Investigation Act. Provides that an owner or occupier of a premises owes a reasonable duty of care to fire fighters to maintain the premises in accordance with applicable fire safety codes, regulations, ordinances, and generally applicable safety standards. Defines "premises". Effective immediately.

 Fiscal Note (Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal)
 State expenditures would be impacted if a firefighter were injured on property owned by the State. As such, it is difficult to determine costs if the State were to be sued under these provisions, should this bill become law.
