Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Accident and Health Insurance Article of the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that a group or individual policy of accident and health insurance that is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 may not deny coverage for medically necessary reconstructive services that are intended to restore physical appearance. Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that medically necessary reconstructive services that are intended to restore physical appearance shall be covered under the medical assistance program for persons who are otherwise eligible for medical assistance.
Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the provisions of the introduced bill. Provides that a managed care plan that is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 may not deny coverage for medically necessary reconstructive services that are intended to restore physical appearance. Makes a conforming change in the Health Maintenance Organization Act.
