Synopsis As Introduced
Amends a Section of the Downstate Forest Preserve District Act. Provides that the president and forest preserve commissioners in DuPage County elected on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly shall serve without compensation. Effective immediately.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Downstate Forest Preserve District Act. Provides that at the next general election after the effective date of the amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly, the question of the whether the president and forest preserve district commissionersof DuPage County shall serve without compensation, except that they shall be reimbursed for their reasonable expenses, shall be presented to the voters of DuPage County. Further provides that if a majority of the votes cast are in favor of the proposition, the president and forest preserve commissioners whose terms begin on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act shall serve without compensation, except that they shall be reimbursed for their reasonable expenses actually incurred in performing their official duties under the Act. Effective immediately.
