Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Counties Code and the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the corporate authorities of any municipality or county may, by ordinance, prohibit any clothing donation box placed on any property within the county or municipality by any person, organization, association, or business that is not officially recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt entity under the Internal Revenue Code. Effective immediately.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with changes. Requires the labeling of each donation bin (rather than each clothing donation bin) located in a county or municipality. Requires all entities to label their donation bins with the words "for profit" or "not for profit". Effective immediately.
