Synopsis As Introduced Creates the United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Memorial Highway Act. Designates the portion of Interstate 80 that is located in the State of Illinois as the United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Memorial Highway.
House Floor Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Provides that the Act may be cited as the U.S. Military Highways Designations Act (rather than the United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Memorial Highway Act). Designates the portion of Interstate 80 in Illinois from mile marker 26 to 51 (rather than the entirety of Interstate 80 in Illinois) as the U.S. Marine Corps Highway "Semper Fidelis" (rather than the United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Memorial Highway) to honor and mark the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. Provides that appropriate plaques may be erected by the Department of Transportation along Interstate 80 and in rest areas along this route (rather than only in rest areas).
