Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that the Illinois Commerce Commission, for reasons of safety and reliability, shall adopt rules to prohibit residential, commercial, and industrial customers from installing their own distribution facilities and equipment. Provides that the Commission shall have the authority to impose significant penalties to customers and electric utilities for a violation of the rules. Effective immediately.
