Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall take all appropriate steps to increase the number of women who receive cancer screenings or other services under the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, the Stand Against Cancer Initiative, and the Hispanic Breast and Cervical Cancer Initiative in each State fiscal year so that by the end of State fiscal year 2017, every woman who is eligible for cancer screenings or other services under one of those programs receives those services. Requires the Department to request increased appropriations for this purpose and include those requests in the Department's proposed annual budget for each of State fiscal years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Provides that for each of those State fiscal years, the Department's requested appropriations for the cancer programs shall maintain the ratio of funding between each of the cancer programs that existed for State fiscal year 2007. Effective immediately.
