Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that retired police officers may serve summons for violations of ordinances occurring within their municipalities (currently, only active duty police officers may do so). Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill. Provides that in municipalities with a population of 1,000,000 or more, active duty or retired police officers may serve summons for violations of ordinances occurring within their municipalities. Effective immediately.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill. Provides that in municipalities with a population of 1,000,000 or more, private process servers and active duty or retired police officers may serve summons for violations of ordinances occurring within their municipalities. Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 3
Deletes reference to:

Adds reference to:
65 ILCS 5/11-74.4-3.5

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act in the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the redevelopment project in the TIF district created by an ordinance that was adopted on April 1, 2000, as amended on May 17, 2000 and subsequently, by the City of Chicago to create the Midwest Redevelopment TIF District must be completed by December 31 of the 35th year (now, the 23rd year) after the year in which the ordinance was adopted. Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 4
