Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Parental Responsibility Law. Increases the limitation on damages recoverable under that Law, from $20,000 to $200,000.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 3
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Parental Responsibility Law. Provides that reasonable attorney's fees may be awarded up to $15,000 in an action against a parent or legal guardian of a minor for actual damages caused by the willful or malicious acts of the minor. Provides that recovery for damages shall be limited to $20,000 for the first act and $30,000 if the minor exhibits a pattern or practice of willful or malicious conduct. Provides that the provisions concerning liability and limitations on damages shall apply to causes of action accruing on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act.
