Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that on the effective date the amendatory Act the Sex Offender Investigation Fund will be dissolved and the remaining balance shall be transferred into the Offender Registration Fund. Amends the Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registration Act. Provides that the Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registration Fund will be dissolved and the remaining balance shall be transferred into the Offender Registration Fund. Provides that provisions concerning the Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registration Fund are repealed on January 1, 2020.Makes conforming changes to the State Finance Act and the Sex Offender Registration Act. Effective immediately.
Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with changes. Deletes language providing that 50% of the moneys in the Offender Registration Fund shall be allocated by the Department of State Police for sheriffs' offices and police departments. Effective immediately.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Restores language providing that 50% of the moneys in the Offender Registration Fund shall be allocated by the Department of State Police for sheriffs' offices and police departments. Provides that the remaining moneys in the Fund received under the amendatory Act shall be allocated to the Illinois State Police for education and administration of the Act (rather than allocated to the Illinois State Police Offender Registration Unit). Makes technical changes.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that fees collected for the furnishing of copies of accident reports by the Illinois State Police shall be deposited into the State Police Services Fund.
