House Floor Amendment No. 2

Provides that, subject to appropriation, the Department of Human Services shall field test a tiered-reimbursement rate system for child care providers for the purpose of demonstrating a set of performance standards that may provide support and economic incentives to help programs meet the standards that help children grow and learn, and to help families identify high quality child care programs. Provides that the Department shall conduct a field test of the quality rating system instruments to determine the infrastructure necessary to adequately support a more comprehensive tiered-reimbursement system and to determine the baseline of quality for a sample of current child care providers.
