Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Illinois Family-Law Study Committee to examine the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act, study the changes in law and society since the Act was enacted, and recommend how the Act should be amended to improve and update it.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the Commission will include 4 members (instead of 2) appointed by the Speaker and 4 members (instead of 2) appointed by the Minority Leader.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Provides that the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall designate one of the Committee members appointed by Speaker to serve as the chairperson.
