Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall undertake a study to determine the need for primary care physicians in Illinois to meet this State's current demand and to replace retiring physicians within the 5, 10, and 15 years following the study. Provides that the study shall also determine the State's future need for primary care physicians based upon the requirements of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Provides that the Department shall submit its report to the General Assembly on or before December 1, 2013. Repeals the provision on December 31, 2013. Effective immediately.
