Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Allows a member who rendered full-time contractual services to an Illinois Veterans Home operated by the Department of Veterans' Affairs to establish service credit for up to 8 years of such services by making specified contributions, plus interest. Requires application no later than July 1, 2010. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the interest is at the actuarially assumed rate.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that applicant wishing to establish the service credit must apply no later than 6 months after the effective date of the amendatory Act (rather than no later than July 1, 2010).
