Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the General Assembly Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that a member may establish credit for certain military service without paying the employer's cost of those benefits if payment is made on or after July 1, 2004.

 Pension Note (Pension Laws Commission)
 The fiscal impact of House Bill 2987 cannot be calculated, as the amount of military service credit that would be established during the window is unknown. There would be a fiscal impact, as the employer contribution is waived if the military service is established prior to July 1, 2004.
