Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Illinois Human Rights Act. Provides that discrimination against a person because of the person's veteran status (status as a person who served on active duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States, a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, or the Illinois Army National Guard or Illinois Air National Guard and who was discharged with other than a dishonorable discharge) constitutes unlawful discrimination under the Act. Effective immediately.
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Human Rights Act. Changes the definition of "military status" to include status as a veteran of the armed forces of the United States, a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, or the Illinois Army National Guard or Illinois Air National Guard (existing law defines "military status" as status on active duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States, a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, or the Illinois Army National Guard or Illinois Air National Guard). Defines "veteran". Effective immediately.
House Floor Amendment No. 2 Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Makes changes sismilar to those in House Amendment No. 1, except that the definition of "veteran" is not included. Effective immediately.
