Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act. Provides that the Farmers' Market Task Force shall be formed by the Director to assist the Department in enacting statewide administrative regulations for farmers' markets. Provides for the appointment of members of the Task Force and their corresponding duties. Provides provisions concerning the statewide farmers' market food safety guidelines. Makes corresponding changes in the Sanitary Food Preparation Act. Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the bill as introduced and the following changes. Expands the Farmers' Market Task Force membership from 14 to 23 members. Makes changes concerning appointments to the Task Force. Sets forth provisions concerning the Task Force's reports. Provides that the Department of Public Health and the Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with the Task Force, shall adopt administrative rules necessary to implement, interpret, and make specific the provisions of the Act, including, but not limited to, rules concerning labels, sanitation, and food product safety according to the realms of their jurisdiction. Makes other changes.
