Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act. Excludes sewers from the scope of the Act. Makes technical changes. Effective immediately.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act. Provides that if an excavation or demolition project will last more than 28 days, facility owners must be renotified. Requires owners and operators of underground sewer facilities to mark the location of those facilities. Provides for proposed excavations to be marked in black, rather than white, when snow is on the ground. Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the contents of the bill as engrossed with the following changes. Provides that in municipalities that have a population of at least 1,000,000 persons, notice shall be given to the One-Call Notice system for that municipality. Provides that the provisions requiring owners and operators of underground sewer facilities to mark the location of those facilities applies only to facilities located outside a municipality having a population of at least 1,000,000 inhabitants. Effective immediately.
