Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Changes the interests required to be reported in the statement of economic interests to disclose information about (i) all income other than compensation for the government service that necessitates the statement, (ii) certain types of liabilities, (iii) honoraria and gifts redirected to charities, and (iv) certain types of gifts received by the spouse and immediate family members of the person making the statement. Defines "income" and provides categories of monetary value with which to report various types of income. Amends the State Gift Ban Act. Adds captions to the various categories of exemptions from the gift ban. Effective January 1, 2004.
