Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that there shall be no fee paid for a certificate of title issued to a county when the vehicle is a junk vehicle and the vehicle is forfeited to the county under the Vehicle Forfeiture Article of the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that a county, sheriff, deputy sheriff, or employee of the county sheriff shall not be civilly or criminally liable for any damage to a forfeited vehicle stored with a commercial vehicle safety relocator. Eliminates provision that certain personal property belonging to the vehicle owner of a vehicle that is determined to be a hazardous dilapidated motor vehicle is subject to a lien. Effective immediately.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Provides that there shall be no fee paid for a certificate of title issued to a county when the vehicle is forfeited to the county under forfeiture provisions of the Criminal Code of 1961 (rather than limited to a forfeited junk vehicle).
