Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Natural Resources (Conservation) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois, the Fish and Aquatic Life Code, and the Wildlife Code to allow a serviceman or servicewoman who is returning from service abroad or mobilization to camp, fish, and hunt in the State without fee for as long as he or she maintains residency in Illinois. Effective immediately.

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Fish and Aquatic Life Code. Sets the fishing license fee for resident veterans after returning from service abroad or mobilization by the President, commencing with the 2010 license year, at one-half of the fishing license fee for residents. Sets the sportsmen's combination license fee for resident veterans after returning from service abroad or mobilization by the President, commencing with the 2010 license year, at one-half of the sportsmen's combination license fee for residents. Requires veterans to provide verification of their service. Authorizes the Department to establish what constitutes suitable verification of service for the purpose of issuing these licenses to resident veterans at a reduced fee. Amends the Wildlife Code. Sets the hunting license fee for resident veterans after returning from service abroad or mobilization by the President, commencing with the 2010 license year, at one-half of the hunting license fee for residents. Requires veterans to provide verification of their service. Authorizes the Department to establish what constitutes suitable verification of service for the purpose of issuing hunting licenses to resident veterans at a reduced fee. Effective April 1, 2010.
