Illinois General Assembly - Bill Status for HB2388

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act. Provides that no later than July 1, 2018, the Department of Children and Family Services shall establish and maintain on its official website a searchable database, freely accessible to the public, that provides the following information on each child care provider licensed by the Department: (i) whether within the past 5 years the child care provider or any employee of the child care provider has been the subject of an indicated report of child abuse or neglect; and (ii) whether within the past 5 years the child care provider has had a license under the Child Care Act of 1969 suspended or revoked by the Department. Permits the Department to adopt any rules necessary to implement the public database. Provides that the new provisions shall not be construed to allow or authorize the Department to release or disclose any information that is prohibited from public disclosure under the Act or under any other State or federal law.

Provides that no later than July 1, 2018, the Department of Children and Family Services shall establish and maintain on its official website a searchable database, freely accessible to the public, that provides the following information on each day care home, group day care home, and day care center licensed by the Department: whether, within the past 5 years, the day care home, group day care home, or day care center has had its license revoked by or surrendered to the Department during a child abuse or neglect investigation or its application to renew its license was denied by the Department, and, if so, the dates upon which the license was revoked by or surrendered to the Department or the application for a renewal of the license was denied by the Department. Provides that the Department may adopt any rules necessary to implement the provisions and that nothing shall be construed to allow or authorize the Department to release or disclose any information that is prohibited from public disclosure under the Act or under any other State or federal law.
