Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning extended statutes of limitations.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
720 ILCS 5/3-6
Adds reference to:
730 ILCS 150/7-5 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Sex Offender Registration Act. Provides that a person required to register under the Act for a conviction of criminal sexual abuse if the victim is at least 13 years of age but under 17 years of age and the defendant is less than 5 years older than the victim, may petition the court in the county of conviction for the termination of the term of registration no less than 10 years after his or her initial registration. Provides that the court may upon a hearing on the petition for termination of registration, terminate registration if the court finds that the registrant poses no risk to the community by a preponderance of the evidence based upon specified factors.
