Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act in the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that (i) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on January 19, 1988 and (ii) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on September 21, 1998 by the City of Waukegan must be completed by December 31 of the 35th year (now, the 23rd year) after the year in which the ordinance was adopted. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything. Amends the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act in the Illinois Municipal Code. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill and also provides that (i) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on December 15, 1981 by the City of Champaign, (ii) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on December 15, 1986 by the City of Urbana, (iii) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on December 31, 1986 by the Village of Milan, (iv) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on November 30, 1986 by the City of Effingham, and (v) the redevelopment project in the TIF District created by an ordinance adopted on May 20, 1985 by the Village of Wheeling must be completed by December 31 of the 35th year (now, the 23rd year) after the year in which the ordinance was adopted. Effective immediately.
