Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning promotional preferences.

Adds reference to:
65 ILCS 5/10-1-16from Ch. 24, par. 10-1-16
65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-8from Ch. 24, par. 10-2.1-8

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. In a Section concerning veterans' preference, provides that "active duty military or naval service of the United States" includes full-time training duty, annual training duty, and attendance while in the active military service at a school designated as a service school.

House Floor Amendment No. 2
Provides that "active duty military or naval service of the United States" includes training at a service school that is ordered pursuant to certain provisions of federal law (instead of "full-time training duty, annual training duty, and attendance while in the active military service at a school designated as a service school by law or by the Secretary of the military department concerned").
