Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that, subject to appropriation, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, in consultation with the Department of Transportation, may establish and administer a test program to place at rest areas along highways computer kiosks that provide information on tourism activities in the State. Sets forth the requirements of the test program.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Creates the 21st Century Workforce Development Fund Act. Provides that the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity must make competitive grants to support workforce development strategies based on outlined priorities. Creates the 21st Century Workforce Development Fund Advisory Committee to review, advise, and recommend for approval or denial all grant requests from the Fund. Amends the State Finance Act to create the 21st Century Workforce Development Fund. Effective July 1, 2009.
