Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides service credit for up to 5 days of voluntary or involuntary furlough used to address a State fiscal emergency. Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1

Adds reference to:
40 ILCS 5/14-104from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 14-104

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Allows a member to establish service credit for up to 5 days of voluntary or involuntary furlough used to address a State fiscal emergency. Requires employee contributions, plus an amount determined by the Board to be equal to the employer's normal cost of the benefit, plus interest at the actuarially assumed rate. Effective immediately.
