AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3275 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3275 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the 
5Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding 
6Section 2705-206 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2705/2705-206 new)
8    Sec. 2705-206. Road safety assessment. The Department 
9shall conduct a road safety assessment for the 10 most 
10hazardous intersections under State jurisdiction in Will 
11County south of Interstate 80. The Department, in consultation 
12with local agencies, shall determine the intersections to be 
13studied. The road safety assessment shall be a formal, 
14independent, comprehensive safety performance review of 
15roadway and intersection safety in compliance with 23 CFR 924 
16and provide opportunities for improvement. Expressways shall

1not be included in the road safety assessment. The Department 
2shall submit the road safety assessment to the General 
3Assembly by January 1, 2028.
4    This Section is repealed on July 1, 2028.".
