SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
230 ILCS 45/25-60

    Amends the Sports Wagering Act. Provides that a supplier or vendor authorized by a sports governing body or sports league, organization, or association to distribute tier 2 official league data is not required to obtain a tier 2 official league data provider license if that supplier or vendor already holds a supplier license or if that supplier or vendor has been granted a temporary or conditional authorization to offer any of its services as a supplier licensee.

1    AN ACT concerning gaming.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Sports Wagering Act is amended by changing
5Section 25-60 as follows:
 
6    (230 ILCS 45/25-60)
7    Sec. 25-60. Tier 2 official league data provider license.
8    (a) A sports governing body or a sports league,
9organization, or association or a vendor authorized by such
10sports governing body or sports league, organization, or
11association to distribute tier 2 official league data may apply
12to the Board for a tier 2 official league data provider
13license.
14    (b) A tier 2 official league data provider licensee may
15provide a master sports wagering licensee with official league
16data for tier 2 sports wagers. No sports governing body or
17sports league, organization, or association or a vendor
18authorized by such sports governing body or sports league,
19organization, or association may provide tier 2 official league
20data to a master sports wagering licensee without a tier 2
21official league data provider license.
22    Notwithstanding the provisions of this Section, the
23licensing and fee requirements of this Section shall not apply

1if, under subsection (g) of Section 25-25, master sports
2wagering licensees are not required to use official league data
3to determine the results of tier 2 sports wagers.
4    (c) The initial license fee for a tier 2 official league
5data provider license is payable to the Board at the end of the
6first year of licensure based on the amount of data sold to
7master sports wagering licensees as official league data as
8follows:
9        (1) for data sales up to and including $500,000, the
10    fee is $30,000;
11        (2) for data sales in excess of $500,000 and up to and
12    including $750,000, the fee is $60,000;
13        (3) for data sales in excess of $750,000 and up to and
14    including $1,000,000, the fee is $125,000;
15        (4) for data sales in excess of $1,000,000 and up to
16    and including $1,500,000, the fee is $250,000;
17        (5) for data sales in excess of $1,500,000 and up to
18    and including $2,000,000, the fee is $375,000; and
19        (6) for data sales in excess of $2,000,000, the fee is
20    $500,000.
21    The license is valid for 3 years.
22    (d) The tier 2 official league data provider licensee may
23renew the license for 3 years by paying a renewal fee to the
24Board based on the amount of data sold to master sports
25wagering licensees as official league data in the immediately
26preceding year as provided in paragraphs (1) through (6) of

1subsection (c).
2    (e) A supplier or vendor authorized by a sports governing
3body or sports league, organization, or association to
4distribute tier 2 official league data is not required to
5obtain a tier 2 official league data provider license if that
6supplier or vendor already holds a supplier license under
7Section 25-50 or if that supplier or vendor has been granted a
8temporary or conditional authorization to offer any of its
9services as a supplier licensee under Section 25-50.
