SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Affordable Medical Equipment Act. Provides that a physician licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987 or a hospital licensed or organized under the Hospital Licensing Act or the University of Illinois Hospital Act shall not sell medical equipment for more than the suggested retail value.

AN ACT concerning health.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Affordable Medical Equipment Act.

Section 5. Sale of medical equipment. A physician licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987 or a hospital licensed or organized under the Hospital Licensing Act or the University of Illinois Hospital Act shall not sell medical equipment for more than the suggested retail value.
