HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the West Lincoln-Broadwell Elementary School 7th grade girls basketball team, the Lady Wolverines, on winning the 2018-19 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 1A State Championship by defeating Wallace Grade School 52 to 20; and

WHEREAS, The 7th grade Lady Wolverines ended the regular season with a record of 23 wins and zero losses; they went on to complete an undefeated season with 29 wins and zero losses; and

WHEREAS, The 7th grade Lady Wolverines won the Taylorville Tournament Championship and were the 2018 Logan County Champions; and

WHEREAS, The 7th grade Lady Wolverines are Becca Heitzig, Kloe Froebe, Jenna Bowman, Tori Geriets, Regan Goodey, Alyssa Bishop, Alison Turner, Piper Whiteman, Jane Turner, Emma Baker, Rebecca Burge, Mesa McCloud, Grace Schneider, Lily Holmes, Mia Clark, Marin Luckhart, Myah Bowman, Dabria Dalpoas, Amaya Randall, Madison Kurka, and Jayden Behrends; and

WHEREAS, The team managers for the 7th grade Lady Wolverines are Addie Farmer, Kendall Long, and Kruz Froebe; and

WHEREAS, The coaching staff for the 7th grade Lady Wolverines are assistant coaches Ashley Paulus and Cory Farmer and Head Coach Kari Froebe; and

WHEREAS, The 7th grade Lady Wolverines are a special group of athletes, coached by one of the best basketball coaches in the state, Kari Froebe; in Coach Froebe's tenth year coaching the Lady Wolverines, she has guided her teams to five state championships, a runner-up finish, and one third place finish; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the West Lincoln-Broadwell Elementary School 7th grade girls basketball team, the Lady Wolverines, on winning the 2018-19 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 1A State Championship, and we commend them for their hard work on and off the court, their dedicated coaching staff leading the team, their perfect season, and their outstanding teamwork; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to each 7th grade Lady Wolverine, their parents, and the coaching staff.
