HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to commend Myles A. Naughton on his outstanding contributions to the Arlington Heights Park District; and

WHEREAS, Myles Naughton has served as a commissioner of the Arlington Heights Park District for twelve years; he has served with distinction as Vice President of the Board of Commissioners for six years; and

WHEREAS, Myles Naughton has assisted staff in the purchase of many properties for the expansion of District parks or operations by contributing his expertise in business and real estate; and

WHEREAS, Myles Naughton was influential in the promotion and development of numerous intergovernmental agreements with local school districts, park districts, villages, businesses, and the Village of Arlington Heights; and

WHEREAS, Myles Naughton has assisted in the acquisition, design, development, and renovation of premier Park District recreation areas and facilities, including Camelot, Frontier, the Olympic/Arlington Ridge Center, the Pioneer Community Centers, the Olympic Indoor Swim Center, the Davis Service Center, the Forest View Racquet & Fitness Club, the Heritage Tennis Club, Melas Park, the Sunset Meadows Athletic Turf, the Memorial Park & Sculpture, Arlington Lakes Golf Course & Clubhouse, and Lake Arlington; and

WHEREAS, As a board member, Myles Naughton has exhibited ingenuity, individuality, and insight that resulted in creative programming, outstanding facilities, and dedicated services for the residents of Arlington Heights; and

WHEREAS, Myles Naughton was raised in Arlington Heights; he and his wife, Nancy, chose to raise their four daughters as residents of Arlington Heights, where he has been a leader in the community and served on the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association Board; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Myles A. Naughton on his loyal and dedicated service to the Arlington Heights Park District; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Myles Naughton as an expression of our esteem and respect.
