HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John Terence Tretter of Edwardsville, who passed away on May 12, 2019; and

WHEREAS, John Tretter was born in Alton to Michael and Lorraine Brodie Tretter; he married Mary L. Henderson at St. Kevin Catholic Church in Rosewood Heights on April 16, 1966; and

WHEREAS, John Tretter worked as a police officer with the Edwardsville Police Department; he retired as a shift commander in 2001 after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, John Tretter enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping; and

WHEREAS, John Tretter was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, John Tretter is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters, Kory (Joedy) Saffel, Tina Jacobsen, and Dana (Todd) Brakhane; his grandchildren, Maddisen, Jackson, McKinley, Eric, Luke, Meghan, and Benjamin; his brother, Albert (Cynthia) Tretter; and his sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Nenninger and Claire (David) Bauer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Terence Tretter and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Tretter as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
